We held our March clinic last month where the UC Davis (coveloclinic@ucdavis) came to out town to help our animals. It was a huge success! Many pets were spayed and neutered as well as some other complex surgeries were performed, including a c-section on a goat. The totals were as follows- 21 cat neuters, 34 cat spays, 22 dog neuters, 31 dog spays and 4 miscellaneous surgeries. Also, 114 pets were given wellness exams, vaccinations and preventatives for parasites. This time large animals were included although I don't have totals for that yet. Our own sanctuary horse, Shammy, received treatment and was given prescriptions for his arthritis and cushings disease. Many services were offered for large animals. They included wellness exams, vaccinations, deworming, dentals, hoof trims and microchips. There were 105 volunteer veterinarians, veterinary techs, veterinary students and support staff at this clinic. It was a wonderful experience as always. It's exciting to meet the new students and watch in action the dedication everyone has to this project. Our next clinic will be in August. We want to thank everyone that helped in any way. Donations are also helpful when we sponsor these clinics. Our job is to manage the rec center (where the services are provided), haul all the equipment in and set it up for the event (and bring it all home after it's over). We also supply all the food and drinks for the event. We have so many local people that devote the week to preparing then working the weekend to make sure everyone is fed and comfortable. We are grateful for them! We love the UC Davis group (coveloclinic@ucdavis) for all they do for our community and pets.

This was the large animal group. They were at the rodeo grounds to accommodate the larger patients. What wonderful people that truly cared about each patient.

We are so in awe of all of these folks that devote their time and expertise for these animals. We have so much respect and appreciation to them.
