A New Beginning for Brie!

Brie was noticed trying to get into a property with a tall wooden gate. She was looking so forlorn. Obviously, she had been nursing puppies. Neighbors assumed she lived behind that gate on a marijuana grow, but it was discovered people were no longer there. We still don't know what became of her puppies. But... we know that she is safe now and will enjoy life from here on out.

No one lived there and there were no puppies.

She was so pitiful.

So thin and sad.

Kind neighbors started feeding her and brought her into their home to help her gain confidence, strength and weight.

The start of a new life for Brie.

They were not allowed to have pets, so they asked for our help. Of course, we jumped at the chance to help this beautiful, abandoned dog. She was so unsure of us that the man who befriended her had to carry her to our car. She was so frightened it was sad to see her shaking. We kenneled her for her safety and to allow her time to decompress and learn that we were her friends. She quickly accepted us and even made friends with other dogs. We soon discovered that she is just a very young dog who had puppies way too soon. She was a teenage mom.

The fun part to this story is that she has found her "puppy self". She loves to play with the other puppies and really enjoys chew toys. We are looking forward to seeing her true personality emerge with time. It is our hope to find her a forever home where she can continue to blossom and bond with someone that will love and protect her.

She has kennel mates now and loves their company.

Safe and happy at last.
