This is the face of hunger and despair. This poor little guy was found on the road so full of ticks and fleas that he is very anemic. He had no energy and seemed to have lost hope. He was very thirsty. Our outdoor temperature today was 113! He wouldn't even eat for a couple of hours. You can see that his eyes are vacant and he is exhausted.
We're feeding him small amounts often until his system can handle a regular meal. He is receiving vitamins along with quality, easily digested food. It's amazing what just getting rid of the parasites does.
This first morning check in found him sitting up straight and even with a little tail wag. You can see a little more light in his expression. We're anxious to keep showing him that the world can be a kind place, with love and care.
