Wow! That Was A Close Call!

When we got this puppy 2 weeks ago. She seemed perfectly normal, although she was really dirty, which most little strays are. She was hungry and thirsty and appeared healthy. The next morning she had a horrific nose bleed that wouldn't stop. Her gums were extremely pale. Within 24 hours she was on death's door. Luckly we were able to get help. It turned out that she had eaten rat bait and was experiencing the effects of it. She had to be given injections of Vitamin K1 as well as K1 tablets and the bleeding stopped. She was brought to us as a stray, so we have no idea where she got into the rat bait. We do know that if she had not been rescued by a kind person she may have lost her life. One more success and that makes us happy. She is acting like a normal puppy. She loves toys and playing outside. She is super smart and learned the doggy door right away. She has not had any accidents in the house is crate trained and has learned the house rules. We are so glad we were able to get her the help she needed and she is just fine now. She will be available for adoption as soon as she is spayed and her vaccines are complete.
